María Carvajal Regidor graduated with a PhD in English and Writing Studies in 2021. While at UIUC, where she also earned her MA, she taught a variety of courses, including an Advanced Composition course called Writing Across Media. She also served as Assistant Director for both the Center for Writing Studies (CWS) and the Writers Workshop. Through these positions, she conducted research, gained experience in administrative work, and helped shape the culture of writing on campus. She served on multiple committees for the English Graduate Students Association and co-created CWS’ Social Justice Praxis working group and Graduate Data Workshop group. During her graduate studies, she co-edited Viva Nuestro Caucus: Rewriting the Forgotten Pages of our Caucus (2019) and published in various journals. She is currently Assistant Professor and Writing Center Co-Director at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
