Hilary R. Pacheco is a fourth year PhD student in English and minor in Gender and Women’s Studies. Focusing on 20th/21st century African American and Latinx literature and cultural production, her research explores intersections between race, gender, and sexuality across a variety of genres including poetry, fiction, performance, and film/media. Situating her work within works by queer writers of color, Hilary is interested in the way later American authors catalyze processes of disidentification, haunting, and queer time as a means of contending with the neoliberal regimes of white systemic imperialism in the U.S. Hilary has presented her work at several conferences, most recently including panels at MELUS and ALSCW. Her teaching experience includes Intro to Poetry, Early American Lit and Culture, and Politics of Fashion.
